Apprentices bring new energy and fresh perspectives to the workforce. They help fill skills gaps by learning while working, and companies can tailor their training to meet business needs. Additionally, apprenticeships often provide cost savings through government funding and wage subsidies.

It varies depending on the level of the apprenticeship. Generally, for Level 2 apprenticeships, candidates need at least Level 1 GCSEs in English and Maths, but Level 3-Level 5 Apprenticeships require a Level 2 exemption. However, if they don't have any exemptions they are able to undertake their Functional Skills alongside their Apprenticeship.

The duration depends on the level and qualification.

Employers with an annual pay bill of over £3 million must pay into the Apprenticeship Levy, which can be used to fund apprenticeship training. Smaller businesses (with a payroll under £3 million) pay just 5% of the training costs, while the government covers the remaining 95%. Some training is also fully funded for younger apprentices (aged 16-21).

Yes, apprentices are entitled to the same benefits as any other employee, including paid holidays, sick pay, and any other benefits offered by the company. They also have a specific minimum wage, which increases as they get older and gain more experience. Add an answer to this item.

Apprentices do not pay towards the Apprenticeship cost. It is the employers responsibility to fund the Apprenticeship. There are different ways the employer can fund this, it can eiother be funded through their Apprenticeship Levy or through Co-Investment which is when the employer pays 5% of the total cost of the Apprenticeship and the government pay the remaining 95%.
