Maureen has held the position of a Further Education inspector, for thirteen and a half years and is a lead inspector for the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) since 2012 onwards. She provides consultancy support across all FE and Skills provision, including Academy Trusts, HEI organisations, universities, and NHS Trust partnerships and within a very wide range of sector areas sectors. She works nationally with a range of GFE, independent and specialist colleges, prime and partner contracting organisations across the above sectors and including private and residential schools and colleges for ISI at governance, board, strategic, leadership, management and operational levels.
She is a nationally recognised specialist apprenticeship adviser, with extensive experience in apprenticeship inspections and in working with the government, Ofqual, DfE/ETF and the ESFA sector funding and compliance requirements for provision, which includes adult learning, Bootcamps, T levels and also full cost commercial provision.
Maureen is currently a facilitator and programme design consultant for the DfE/ETF funded Apprenticeship Workforce Development Programme on behalf of the AoC.

Since then Heather has been involved in consultancy work with the FE and Skills sector, specialising in governance, leadership and the quality of provision. She has also been appointed to the role of a Non-Executive Director with an NHS Trust. The approach to governance in the NHS trust provides a deep insight into good governance practice that can be deployed in the FE and Skills sector. In addition, Heather is the Chair of a food sustainability charity where she helped to set up governance and oversight processes as it grew to be a larger organisation.
